Think Great Thoughts
Time to check your thought life! What’s been going on in your mind? Are you meditating or rehearsing a present or past negative event? Are you caught in the habit of negative self image and self talk (negative things you tell yourself)? Maybe your thought life is centered more on others outside of you. Do you think negative thoughts about those around you, family, friends, co workers or strangers? Toxic thinking is the number one cause for stress, anxiety, misery, low self esteem, defensiveness, and the list goes on and on and on. Toxic thinking is poison and has been proven to cause adverse physical and emotional affects. Thoughts must be monitored, examined, redirected and many times need to be discarded and replaced. In Philippians 4:8 the bible instructs us to think on these types of things: things that are true, of good report, lovely and the like. It tells us that if this type of thinking is our meditation that it will bring peace to our lives.
Since we are thinking all of the time, let’s strive to think great thoughts. Great thoughts will produce great fruit in our lives. Let’s do it on purpose. Decide to spend a selected amount of time each day thinking about positive, fruitful, edifying things. Make a checklist of things that you would like to focus on and document the time spent thinking about each concept. Scientist say that it takes about 21 days to create a new habit, thus you may want to try out some new thoughts or intentional thinking for this length of time. Whatever you do, think the thoughts that you want to exemplify. We are what we think and you have the power to change your mind. Think great thoughts today!
